Our Mission

Over the course of Pastor John Soper's ministry, he made two observations that led him to develop Mission 119, which is a 501c3 nonprofit.

The first is whenever anyone seriously engages the Bible with an open heart and an open mind, God's Word will change them! That is because the Word is "living and active... it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart" (Heb. 4:12 NIV). The requirement for this transformation shouldn't be bible college or a seminary education. The second is that, although most Christians believe that the Bible is God's Word, they neither understand it well enough, nor obey it completely enough, to become the fully devoted disciples that they have been called to be.

Our goal is to break through these challenges by providing an online and mobile bible study tool that meets people wherever they are, whenever they are ready. We have also tried to eliminate any barriers by making the platform available for free; our only requirement is a willing heart.

Meet Pastor Soper

The man behind the voice

Pastor Soper is a man on mission. For the past 45 years he has served as a church planter, pastor, missionary, professor, District Superintendent and Vice President for Church Ministries in the Christian and Missionary Alliance. In all of these roles however, the mission has remained constant: to equip others to "Know the Word".

This passion is perhaps best expressed in the words of one of his core values: "Knowing and obeying God's Word is fundamental to all true success". In 2017 he retired from his pastoral role at Ridgeway Alliance Church in White Plains NY. He continues to serve as a consultant for leadership development in the Metropolitan District of the Christian and Missionary Alliance.
